To the thousands of dedicated Mestee Blogger readers, I'd like to apologize for the technical difficulties last week. All issues were fixed by the official Mestee Blogger online technician Brendan P. Fernald. Moving along...
Three Red Sox victories makes for a nice weekend...and three victories against the Yankees make it that much nicer. Inspired by the stellar play of the Sox on Friday and Saturday, Steve and I took on Irf and Smilin' Andy Bean (who cemented his role as semi-official Boston Ave House Boy by purchasing a spare toothbrush and razor for his frequent multi-night stays in the big yellow house) in a game of wiffle ball. Though Steve and I struck first with the help of some opposite-field power displayed by the mighty Stove and some insanely lucky bunts laid by yours truly, the Rizvi/Smilin' Andy Bean combination proved to be too much for us. The Mague/Adams duo was unable to conquer the dancing knuckler that Smilin' Andy Bean presented to us on so many occasions. Irf snuffed a 9th inning Mague/Adams rally with a diving catch worthy of the ESPN highlight reel. I, along with every other player, managed to throw my arm out by attempting to hurl the wiffle ball into stiff, head-on winds.
The evite is out for our Gotho de Mayo party, which will be taking place in a few weeks. Apparently, we will be competing with a party whose guests have been asked to dress as their favorite fruits or vegetables for the occasion. How bizarre, how bizarre.
