Through an informal poll and semi-unintentional poll, I now estimate the number of regular Mesteeblogger (tm) readers to be hovering around 2, though I can neither confirm or deny the readership of one Smilin' Andy Bean, who has been incommunicado due to his ongoing east coast tour. If the number of regular readers drops below 1, I may have to consider retirement.

On saturday, I went to my cousin's high school graduation party at my aunt's house in North Andover, where highlights included an open bar, a lady carrying around chocolate-covered strawberries, and vast quantities of marinated meat. I spent the day there and then headed back to Boston Ave to meet up with Steve. The two of us drove to Beacon Hill to join the group of Hamiltonians that had already congregated at the aptly-named Beacon Hill Pub -- the "BHP", for those in the know. Steve and I were pleasantly surprised by the presence of games, hot girls, and cheap beers...always a winning combination. After a few minutes of hanging out and watching people play games, Beth Vogel challenged me to a game of mini-basketball shootout. Since I play a fair amount of basketball, I figured that some amount of competance on the real court would translate to the mini ball and hoop game. I was wrong. I embarassed myself by posting a score of 19, after Beth hit 25. My score wasn't that embarassing, though, until two of the Green Line Guys we were with posted scores in the 60 to 68 point range. They both employed the "Whirling Dirvish of Ball-Chucking" technique, which resulted in many baskets. I, on the other hand, preferred the "Slow, Meticulous, Shoot It 6 Inches shy of the Front Rim Everytime" method, which surprisingly led to the smallest point total in the history of this novelty game. Despite my failure at basketball, we were still able to call the night a success...all because I managed to not get a parking ticket after being illegally parked on Beacon Hill for hours. Maybe this guy had something to do with it. Steve and I celebrated with some crab rangoons and General Gao's chicken from the Golden Light.
