Born on the 2nd of July

Oh, there you are. I've been waiting all day for you to read this thing...it's about time. As most of you are aware, today is Friday. More importantly for me, though, is the fact that it is a half-day of work. So far today, this "work" that I speak of has included eating a bagel and writing the paragraph you just read. I don't believe I will achieve much more than this by noon.

The Red Sox have become difficult to watch. Irf's brother and his friend came over to catch the game at our place. Thirteen innings of panic attacks later, we got to watch John Flaherty (John Flaherty, owner of a .167 batting average? Yes, that John Flaherty) crush our hopes and dreams by hitting the single that scored the winning run. It was as if he bent over the entire city of Boston and gave it a powerful kick to the fruit basket. Irf, Imran and Doogs attempted to push the Sox to victory by taking shots of Tequila before crucial at-bats. If intoxication is victory, then at least the three of them won last night.

I'd like to wish a Happy Birthday to my sister, who doesn't read the MesteeBlogger. Sarah turns 23 today, which officially makes me feel old. It's strange to think that I moved into Boston Ave when I was 22. Anyhoo, I'll be spending the 4th of July at my parents' house in Londonderry, where I look forward to enjoying some hamburgers and maybe even a few hot dogs. See you on Tuesday.
