Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk

It's Friday...like the Ice Cube movie, but no drive-by shootings. Last night, I went straight from the office to the No Name restaurant, where I met up with Irf for a bowl of chowder and a few beers before the concert at FleetBoston Pavilion. We went to see Ben Folds, Guster and Rufus Wainwright play a triple-headlining show. While Irf and I took our seats and waited for Brendan and his young ladyfriend to arrive, we spotted a guy with a monobrow like this, except much worse. As Irf said, the brow itself looked like a piece that would be included in a kit of joke disguises. The show was good, though Rufus' set seemed to drag on a little. He has one of the most effortlessly powerful voices I've ever heard, but a lot of his songs just don't do it for me. Ben Folds was fantastic. The subjects of his songs never fail to amuse me..."this one is a true story about a 50 year old guy who slept with his 18 year old daughter's best friend and now they're married with kids" or "this is about a guy who tripped on acid and became a born-again Christian and now he's a priest". After the show, we came home and watched some of Da Ali G Show, which comes out with new episodes later this month (Booyakasha!).

I have had the displeasure of working in a supermarket and being bitten by a spider (Damn you, Brown Recluse!), but this sounds worse than anything I've had to deal with. Grapes, anyone?
