Killing Me Softly with His Song

I'm soooo glad that I went to bed after the 9th inning of the Sox game last night, because not only did I get some extra sleep, but I didn't have to experience the nausea that would have accompanied watching the other Boone brother hit a grand slam to beat us in the 11th inning.

On the train home yesterday, I stood in the console between cars because there were no seats left by the time I boarded. As the train made its way from Boston to Medford, I was the recipient of a private serenade from a large black man who, apparently, could not contain his excitement for what must have been the Fugees album pumping through his headphones. The best thing about this serenade was that this guy not only rapped along with Wyclef, but also busted out his best falsetto to keep up with Lauryn Hill. He actually seemed like he was trying not to sing, so he would get a little quiet for a minute, but then, just when I least expected it he would unleash again at full volume "Ooh la la la, that's the way that we rock when we doing our thing!".

Check it, this is a copy of the speech that Ali G read at the Harvard commencement ceremony this year. You can even use this to help you get through it. I'm out.
