Radio-Friendly Unit Shifter
I woke up laughing this morning. The guests on the morning radio show that wakes me up each day were two guys with talents that were strangely impressive, but ultimately useless. One guy, when presented with any word, was able to say it backwards and also spell it backwards. The other guy could take a word and immediately alphabetize all of the letters within it. For example, when given abracadabra, he would say "a-b-c-d-r". I found myself kind of amazed as each of them took on words like "constatanople" and "xylophone"...but then the host of the show pointed out that these skills would never be able to help you out in any real-life situation. The segment on the show was really funny, but it made me think about how people always say that we only use 10% of our brains and if we learned how to use the other 90% we'd greatly improve the human race. But what if the other 90% only let us do things like these guys could do?
I was the last person on the shuttle from North Station this morning, so there were no seats left open for me. I had to stand and hold on to the pole behind the driver. People rarely opt to stand on these shuttles and today I found out why.
Pop Quiz!
Complete the following sentence:
Shuttle Drivers Love _____.
a) Putting the accelerator to the floor
b) Slamming on the brakes
c) Mr. Fernald
d) A crazy combination of a, b, and c!
If you guessed "D", you're right. If I had known that answer this morning, I probably would have opted to wait for the next shuttle, where I could get a seat and not have to be flung around wildly in front of my co-workers. Well, that's all for today. Hasta manana.
