Whew -- that was the longest long weekend I've experienced in a while. It was filled with food, folks, fun...and sparklers. Où je commencent?
On Friday, I finally got a new computer at my office. It's a nice little HP Compaq with a Pentium 4, optical mouse, and a "QuietKey" keyboard...delivered directly to my desk by our tech guy, who looks surprisingly like Sinbad. I had a half day at work which ended up feeling a lot longer, due to my extended commute home, which involved a chain-reaction of commuting bloopers and blunders that ultimately lead to a two hour trip that took carried me 6 miles from my starting point. I should have just walked down 93.
I had a good time on Friday night, when Hufton and I went to the Faneuil Hall area with our sisters and their friends to celebrate my sister's birthday. Our evening involved scorpion bowls, a cabbie with poor sense of direction, indecent exposure, fighting on the dance floor, vomiting and, of course, a big dirty hotel mattress.
On Sunday, Irf, Hufton and I went to my parents' house in Londonderry to enjoy the 4th of July festivities. We played some serious 3 on 3 wiffle ball with Meghan and Katie, my 17 and 18 year old cousins, as well as Sarah, who had since recovered from activities mentioned in the previous paragraph. Hufton, Irf, and Katie were victorious...beating Sarah, Meghan, and I by a score of 7-3. Hufton was the MVP, lighting me up for several home-runs, while Irf was solid in the field, robbing me of a few would-be round trippers. Katie's change-up fooled us throughout the late innings, sealing the victory for Team Kweebler.
Yesterday, I went golfing and became the 10 billionth person to see Spiderman 2, which has now raked in approximately 19 Gazillion dollars. Doc Ock was worth the price of admission. (Insert Segue Here) If you haven't seen the new "Dear Internet" entry on the New Original Country Gentlemen site, I suggest you do. That is all.
