Cursing in the Rain

Wow, this is some seriously crappy weather we're having, eh? Okay, so I didn't have 4 hurricanes hit my house like the poor people in Florida...but still. According to the ACCU Weather forecast, this morning was supposed to be partly cloudy with some sun. Not true. It was windy and raining, but I was carrying my umbrella with me (as I have learned to do always...you feel pretty smart when it rains unexpectedly), so it seemed like I wouldn't have a problem. I was wrong. The wind was very gusty and erratic, making it difficult to carry my umbrella without it either collapsing around my head or opening up and taking me through the air like Mary Poppins. I'll admit that the wind has been my nemesis ever since my 4th birthday party, which was disrupted by some strong gusts that were blowing party favors everywhere (that party was later saved by my Aunt Mana dressing up as Big Bird, but that's neither here nor there). Anyway, the shuttle at North Station was packed by the time I got there, so I had to wait around for the next one. I'm not sure if my umbrella was poorly designed in comparison to your average one, but I felt like I was the only person waiting for the shuttle that was struggling and looking like a fool trying to keep their umbrella from collapsing. My schadenfreude was later satisfied by watching 3 people have their umbrellas flip inside out. But enough about umbrellas, let's talk about space tourism. Better yet, I'll let you read about it here or here. One seat will cost the equivalent of a year's salary, assuming you make $70, ooo a year, which most of you actually don't. If you're not into that, you can read this article about the Daily Show, assuming you're too stoned to read. I'm out like trout.
