Entry #112
Today is Faux Friday for me. Instead of hitching a ride to Boston on the commuter rail tomorrow morning, I'll be flying to the land of taxation without representation to visit with both new and old members of the D.C. crew. I think I've talked about this like 5 times already, but it's happening tomorrow, so I'm totally justified in mentioning my trip again.
Last night, we watched the Sox win in dramatic fashion, which they seem to be fond of doing lately. Three ninth-inning home runs given up by Foulke in his last 3 appearances...yikes. At least they won 2 out of 3 of those games. Boston Ave was relatively well represented at Fenway, since Timmy and Brendan were both in attendance (seperately). We got an unintelligible phone call as soon as the game ended, which was basically just crowd noise and someone screaming into their phone. I'm suspecting it was a slightly drunken Timmy, who had spent the day on a booze cruise as part of a company outing. It also happened to be his birthday, so co-workers were apparently buying him drinks the whole time.
I admit, I feel a little strange writing about someone who doesn't know that the blog exists...in this case, Tim. Well, I guess I do that all the time, but I mean someone that I know personally. This strange feeling struck me as I was standing behind The Musketeer on the escalator last week, taking an up-close survey of the items he had on his "utility belt". Wouldn't it be weird if, at that very moment, someone was standing behind me and thinking "Wow, this guy is just staring at the guy in front of him, and I've seen him staring at other people before...I've got to write about this in my blog" ? For all I know, I could be someone's Billy or Best Friends or Musketeer or Obnoxious Lady across from my cubicle, but for now, I'll assume that I'm not.
Depending on the techmology situation in my quarters in DC, I'll try to write an entry or two over the weekend. The NYC blog seemed to go pretty well, so why not go for weekend road trip blog #2? I'm out for today...in the meantime, you can check out this picture.
