This is a little number we like to call "Eff Whitey"

I'm holed up in my temporary quarters down here in DC, so I figured I could get in an entry while Irf is in the can. Well, he's out now, but I'll continue. My flight took off from Manchester at 8:30 this morning, and I was in DC on time to meet Irf in Dupont Circle just before noon. After a manly embrace, we hit up "Chipotle" for lunch, where we had some serious fajita burritos. Apparently, the restaurant is owned by McDonalds, which is surprising, because there is nothing on the menu called a McBurrito, a McChimichanga, or even a McPulled Pork Quesadilla.
After lunch, Irf and I went down to the Mall, where the Native American Festival was going on. It was being held in celebration of the opening of the Native American Museum in DC. There were a lot of tassels, some loincloths, and even guys singing while holding potatoes and ears of corn. We found the music from America's first settlers to be slightly unfulfilling, and the only interesting thing -- a group that was dancing along with people singing and playing drums -- was ruined by a cheesy band with an unnecessarily loud PA system. I decided that this band must be the Coldplay of the Native American music scene, since they got hooked up with the giant stage in front of the Capitol Building with 30 foot TV monitor, which projected their image to, uh, tens of people. I think they may have overestimated their appeal, since they were seriously playing to about 30 people (including Irf and myself) seated in a sea of about 3,000 empty chairs. Anyway, we eventually met Brendan on the Mall, then the three of us walked to Union Station to meet Sheri.
It's about 5:30 now, and Irf and I are hanging out at his place. I'll be sure to tell you if anything exciting happens. Actually, I'll be sure to tell you even if anything happens at all. That's it for now...have a good Friday.
