As Irf would say, "Oh yeah, big day today! It's a really big day!". Today is election day, of course, which means no more harassment for those of you in swing states. No more telephone calls, commercials, or automated phone calls from Curt Schilling. Not that I'm included in this group...Massachusetts is one of the states that is taken for granted during national elections, hence the newly proposed Massachusetts license plate slogan "We are wicked liberal!".
I showed up to vote at the West Medford Fire Station this morning, and as of 8:00 AM, the line was out the door. Despite stories of volunteer shortages at the polls, the crowd in West Medford moved rapidly in and out of the voting booths with the help of many old ladies and one old guy. Even with the huge lines, I was done voting in about 10 minutes all together. The most time consuming thing was trying to figure out the questions on the ballot, which included things that I was pretty sure were laws already and things that I couldn't imagine possibly being an issue affecting more than 3 people in the commonwealth of Massachusetts in any given year. Other than that, most races had one guy running in them, which made decisions pretty easy.
They've figured out 33 ways that the election could end in a 269 to 269 tie, but if the MesteeBlogger polls are right, it looks like they're way off. Novak's Mom in a landslide -- you heard it here first.
