Guess Who's Back...Back Again...
Hey kids! It's Friday and it's fricken' freezing outside. In fact, according to weather.com, it is currently -7 degrees with the windchill (and a tropical 9 degrees without).
Usually, on the way to work, we ride the shuttle from North Station to World Trade in relative silence. Occasionally, a driver will put on the radio at a barely audible level, but that's about it. On Thursday, I could just make out the sounds of the Monday Night Football theme song (Are you ready for some football!?), with the words changed around to make the song about the Patriots beating the Steelers. This morning, the song came on again. After listening to about 5 seconds of it, the driver, a red-headed gap-tooth woman, decided to turn the radio up. Way up. Everybody just sort of looked at each other like "Do you know why she did that?". It was almost as if she expected that the camaraderie amongst us presumed Patriots fans would become so overwhelming that we just started to shout "Hooray! The Patriots are the best team in the land!". But really, we just sat there and wondered why she had decided that 20 professionals needed to hear this song (which is actually a really crappy song) at top volume. The song seemed like it went on for 10 minutes, with verse after cheesy verse about Tom Brady kickin' some Steeler butt. World Series, Y'all Hear Me.
I'm not sure what's more ridiculous. This or this. Wish me luck at Foxwoods this weekend.
