For the past week, I had been talking to this guy I met on Craig's List about playing some music together with his band. Yesterday, I got an email asking if I could come in and audition at 9:00 pm that night. I listened to some of their Mp3's and wrote some lyrics to them 20 minutes before I left for their rehearsal space in Watertown. Though I felt pretty good about the lyrics written on very short notice, I think the true miracle was that I found the studio without making one wrong turn. I met the guys in their practice room and we played the song I wrote for, but after that, we couldn't find much common ground with cover songs that everyone knew, so I basically had to just make up words to their songs as I was listening to them, which was occasionally ridiculous. I also had issues with not being able to hear myself, which can lead to an unfortunate experience for others, especially if they can hear you (ie Ashlee Simpson/Orange Bowl Fiasco). Anyway, I was the first person they tried out, so who knows if it will work out or not. I guess I'll hear from them after I make my return trip to this side of the Atlantic.

I was amused to hear that Paris Hilton's phone was hacked (a Paris Hilton and Ashlee Simpson reference in the same post...Steve would be ashamed), leaking 500 or so celebrity phone numbers to the public. If anybody were to ever hack into my cell phone, they would find the numbers of celebrities including Julias #1 and #2, Jack, and my Mom. That would be disasterous.

I'm wondering if we'll have enough numbers for Texas Hold 'Em tonight. Jimmy has been sick, and Rudman the Unreliable has been continuing to live up to his name. Maybe if it's only me, Mike, and Timmy, I'll have a better chance of finally winning the big one. Wish me luck.
