Bonjour
Overall, the language has not been that much of an issue, but far from smooth communication. For instance, the first day in the airport, I managed to ask enough questions to realize that I was nowhere near where I needed to be to meet up with Hufton. After taking a surprisingly long bus ride to another terminal, I managed to get to the gate where Hufton, Maren, and Katie would be an hour later. We initially went to the wrong Hotel Belfort, but later found the one where we had reservations.
On Monday, we were pretty ambitious, making it to the Louvre, Notre Dame, and the top of the Eiffel Tower. I've got pictures, but it's probably not worth the Euros to take the time to post them right now. We went to dinner at an Indian restaurant, which was very good. After our meal, the two men who ran the restaurant approached me and got very excited, telling me that I looked just like the Pakistani pop star Adnan Sami, who is a "great, great piano player". He is pictured below...you can decide for yourself:
