Piano Playing Indian Counterpart Strikes Again!
Last night I decided to lift in the basement for an abbreviated workout instead of going to the gym (I'm also carless until tomorrow). I got a little overzealous and tried to push up one extra rep while I was doing the ol' bench press. My arms sort of locked out due to a little lactic build-up, and I had to lower the bar back down to my chest. This is always a pretty embarrassing situation (yes, it has happened before), but I managed to sort of toss the barbell off to one side and crawl out from under it. Even though I was by myself, I still felt a twinge of humiliation.
We played cards for the first time in a while last night. I had decent cards all night, but I couldn't get anything out of it because nobody ever had good hands when I did, causing them to fold and me to rake in the tiny pot. After Brendan knocked Jimmy out, there were four of us, and it was not looking good for me. On two hands in a row, Brendan pulled out last minute miracles. Only one or two cards could have saved him, and they came out both times. I was pretty happy with this development, as it meant that, by doing nothing, I made it to the finals against Brendan. This is especially key because the way we play, second place gets their money back. I was mercilessly crushed by Fernald, but I'm no poorer for it.
I don't know which is weirder: the fact that Adnan Sami is playing the Tsongas Arena in Lowell tonight, or that he is going on immediately before Slipknot.
