Friday the 13th: Revenge of the Bloggers

It's Friday! I remember in high school when my alarm would go off in the morning and on WAAF they would have a guy scream "It's Friday! FRI-DAY!", and then they would go into the "I don't wanna work, I want to bang on the drum all day!" song. I got a lot more excited about Fridays in high school than anytime after that. I think it's because the whole "school to football practice to work" routine had me going for about 14 hours straight. These days I only work for 4 consecutive hours at a time, which makes Friday arrive a lot quicker, therefore becoming less exciting. Don't get me wrong...I'm still happy when Friday rolls around, but sometimes I don't feel like I've "earned it" as much. Maybe I should get a second job and try to make the practice squad for a semi-pro football team. Maybe not. Okay, definitely not.

Hey Brendan, maybe you have something to say? Oh, you do!

Hey Everybody,
I think another prank deserving a dishonorable mention was the time Irfan tricked us into believing that he had won a foosball table in an MGH charity raffle. He kindly asked that someone be home early from work to sign for the delivery that never came. This effectively established Irf as the boy who cried wolf for the next 3 years because we refused to be fooled again.

More recently, while playing poker we fixed the deck while Brian was getting more blue juice and 'accidentily' dealt him 4 aces off the flop. He was quite disappointed when we all went all in and then told him it was a joke and we were taking our chips back. Wah WAAAA.

Brendan,

As Pam Anderson (my former co-worker at T-Mobile) would say, I "pacifically" chose not to acknowledge Irf's foosball table gag, since it was not as much a prank as it was a lie that we did not believe at first, but were forced to believe after Irf's continued insistance that it was true. If that does qualify as a prank, then I would have to nominate the prank he played on Julia #2, which may be rated NC-17 and has to do with the "British Broadcasting Company"...if you know what I mean. In regards to the prank played on me, it was good, but I wasn't sure if it qualified for the top 5.

Perhaps you've read about Dave Chapelle's strange story which involves checking himself into a mental health clinic in South Africa -- sounds more likely to be a skit from his show than an actual event.

Do you have Tridecaphobia? Whatever you do, don't click here. If your not sure that you have it, click here for a semi-related explanation. The strangest thing about all of this? I remembered the name for fear of the number 13.
