Known for its Skills in Magic
I'm having slight Red Sox withdrawal since they were on early on Wednesday (even though I was home in time to catch the game, I turned it off after they were down 7-1) and had the day off yesterday. I think I need some more masculine programming to counter the episodes of America's Next Top Model and American Idol that I watched on Wednesday night with my sister and Jenn Hufton, post guitar lesson. I've somehow managed to avoid watching any full episodes of American Idol thus far. It seems like it's on 7 nights a week. The popularity of the show sort of amazes me. "Hey, these amateur singers are good at singing other peoples' songs! They're even better than most of the people singing Karaoke at the Purple Shamrock on Tuesday nights! I should go buy their CD!" Somehow, it works...and Ryan Seacrest's star on the Walk of Fame will forever be there to remind us of the show's success. The show sort of reminds me of Puttin' on the Hits, a lip sync show I loved in the mid 80's, except on that show, you got to hear the actual song instead of some Russian teenager's attempt at it.
A few days ago, I was watching the news at the gym (sans closed captioning) and a graphic came up on the screen that simply said "Words Not in the Dictionary" and listed snirt, ginormous, and confuzzled. It makes a little more sense after reading this. Now, I've used #1, I experience #5 all the time, but has anyone ever said anything close to #7? Maybe the person that made up #10 didn't realize that it wouldn't be remotely funny unless written instead of spoken (not that it would be a particularly useful word, anyway).Am I the only one who thinks it's weird that there is such a thing as a Liger? I really thought Brendan was trying to fool Irf and I when he said he saw it on the Discovery Channel. Have a good weekend...maybe we'll hang out.
