Itchy and Scratchy

If you post another witty commentary analyzing the zany world you live in, I promise to give you a high five, just like this.
Why do I feel like I'm being patronized by comments like this? Probably because I am.
I was in Store 24 on Sunday night, picking up some Gatorade. When I brought the bottles to the register, the girl at the counter asked "Will that be all, or would you like anything else?"
"I'll take two of those Red Sox scratch tickets," I said. This was confusing to me because I don't think I've ever bought scratch tickets for myself, and also, my mouth hadn't let my brain in on the idea to buy them. I soon realized that they were $5 a piece and immediately got mad at myself for randomly buying $10 worth of scratch tickets. I scratched the first ticket and...nothing -- as expected. On the second ticket, I matched one of the numbers. I figured at least I'd get 5 bucks back, but when I scratched the ticket further, it revealed that I had won $50. Sweet. I matched another number and, again, won $50. The $100 win was a nice way to kick off the week. I highly recommend winning $100 on scratch tickets whenever you can.
